IIM Bangalore MBA RTI Data

This page is built around the 3 things most MBA aspirants actually search for: category-wise shortlist composite score, category-wise final selection composite score, and category-wise total waitlist movement.

Shortlist CS first Final Selection CS second Waitlist Movement third Latest + trend view

For IIM Bangalore, shortlist and final selection are based on different score structures. So this page keeps shortlist CS and final selection CS separate and prominent.

What most students want first

The latest completed batch data surfaced publicly for IIM Bangalore core MBA/PGP is shown first.

Data status: This page prioritizes completed-batch RTI-style numbers. For the current 2026-28 cycle, IIM Bangalore’s official score framework and minimum first-shortlist CAT percentiles are public, but completed-cycle final cutoff and waitlist tables should only be added after that cycle closes.

1) Category-wise Composite Score for WAT / PI Shortlist

This is the most useful first table for serious applicants. It tells you the actual shortlist cutoff by category, not just the minimum CAT eligibility cutoff.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PWD
2025-27 52.6351 42.1982 43.6882 37.4266 28.6808 17.0096
2024-26 48.8695 39.2903 40.4451 34.0663 27.8257 35.1605
2023-25 52.5831 40.8542 43.5703 37.3369 28.0190 37.1465
Quick read: For the latest completed batch 2025-27, shortlist CS remained highest in General and lowest in PWD. Compared with 2024-26, the 2025-27 shortlist CS increased across General, EWS, NC-OBC, SC and ST in the public RTI-based tables.
Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PWD Total shortlisted
2025-27 707 155 471 299 148 80 1860
2024-26 739 155 471 299 148 83 1895
2023-25 742 199 471 299 168 64 1943

Total shortlisted above is the sum of category rows shown in the public RTI-based tables used for this page.

2) Category-wise Composite Score for Final Selection

This is the table most students care about after interview season because it reflects the actual final-offer threshold by category.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PWD
2025-27 59.6879 47.9417 47.9868 45.7769 37.8951 31.04
2024-26 57.4843 46.0049 46.1931 44.0571 34.3843
2023-25 57.0722 46.3713 46.46079 42.6178 38.6087 42.6691
Important: Shortlist CS and final-selection CS should not be directly compared as if they are the same metric. IIM Bangalore uses a pre-PI score for shortlist generation and a post-PI score for final admission offers.

3) Category-wise Total Waitlist Movement

For converts, this is the most practical table after final results. It tells you how much the category moved after initial offers.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PWD
2025-27 61 16 28 38 7 10
2024-26 67 15 16 40 8 2
2023-25 Not surfaced in the same public RTI-based source used for this page.
Trend note: The 2025-27 batch saw strong movement in General, NC-OBC, SC and PWD. These numbers are useful for context, but next-year movement can still change sharply depending on cross-converts, overlapping admits, and acceptance rates.

Total Offers Issued

This helps students understand how much bigger the offer pool was than the final class size and why waitlist movement matters.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PWD Total offers
2025-27 311 66 198 123 67 36 801
2024-26 317 65 186 125 68 25 786
2023-25 283 65 190 122 64 28 752

Official IIM Bangalore Formula: Why two score stages exist

This is why shortlist CS and final CS are separate sections on this page.

Pre-PI score

Interview shortlist stage

IIM Bangalore’s official process assigns weights of CAT 55, 10th 10, 12th 10, bachelor’s 10, work experience/professional course 10, and gender diversity 5 at the pre-PI stage.

Post-PI score

Final admission stage

At the post-PI stage, IIM Bangalore uses PI 40, WAT 10, CAT 25, 10th 5, 12th 5, bachelor’s 5, and work experience/professional course 10.

Category VARC DILR QA Aggregate
General80757585
NC-OBC70656575
EWS70656575
SC65606070
ST55555565
PWD50505060
These are the official minimum percentile requirements for the first shortlist in the current public admission-process document. The actual scores of those called for interviews are higher.

How to read this page correctly

One clean framework for students.

Step 1: Read shortlist CS

Use this to understand whether your profile + CAT combination was strong enough for the interview shortlist in that category.

Step 2: Read final CS

Use this to understand the level at which final offers happened after PI and WAT were added to the process.

Step 3: Read waitlist movement

Use this to estimate how much extra room opened up after initial offers. This is convert-depth context, not a guarantee.

FAQ

Only the practical questions students usually ask.

Which table is more important: shortlist CS or final CS?

Both are important, but for different uses. Shortlist CS helps you understand call difficulty. Final CS helps you understand convert difficulty after interview and WAT.

Can I compare shortlist CS and final CS directly?

No. They are based on different score stages. At IIM Bangalore, shortlist generation uses a pre-PI score, while final admission uses a post-PI score.

Does higher waitlist movement always mean easier conversion?

Not always. It may help, but movement depends on overlaps with other top colleges, number of offers issued, acceptance behaviour, and category-wise seat dynamics.

Why is the official CAT cutoff not enough to predict an IIM Bangalore call?

Because clearing the minimum official CAT eligibility cutoff is only the starting point. IIM Bangalore then uses a category-wise score framework for shortlist generation.

Need this same RTI format for all colleges?

This page follows the right MBA RTI structure: shortlist CS first, final selection CS second, waitlist movement third, and source links below.
