IIM Calcutta PGDBA RTI Data

PGDBA is a joint programme of IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur and ISI. Unlike CAT-based MBA RTI pages, this page focuses on what PGDBA aspirants actually need: forms filled, shortlist counts, minimum and maximum shortlist composite scores, final offer score range, final offers, accepted offers, and waitlist movement.

CBT-based selection CAT not applicable 2024-26 RTI data Joint IIMC-IITKGP-ISI programme

This page follows the same practical order students prefer: latest RTI snapshot first, then official current process, then applications, shortlist score range, final score range, final offers, accepted offers and finally waitlist movement.

What most students want first

The attached RTI reply provides usable admission data for the 2024-26 PGDBA batch.

RTI batch
2024-26

Main usable RTI batch from the attached reply.

Forms filled
2873

Total forms filled across GEN, OBC, EWS, SC and ST.

Shortlisted
378

Total students shortlisted for the interview stage.

Final offers
62

Total final offers reported in the RTI reply.

CAT note: PGDBA does not consider CAT score for candidate selection. It has its own Computer Based Test (CBT).
2023-25 note: The attached 2023-25 document says IIT Kharagpur did not hold that batch’s admission data because the process was coordinated by ISI.

Official current process for PGDBA 2026-28

Use this section for current policy and use the RTI tables below for historical trend reading.

Current cycle

Admissions handled by ISI this year

For Batch 12 (2026-28), the admissions page says PGDBA admissions are being handled by the Indian Statistical Institute this year, even though the programme remains jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur and ISI.

Shortlist stage

Test-based shortlisting

Candidates are shortlisted for Personal Interview based on their PGDBA Admission Test score. Women and transgender candidates get an additional 2 marks only for shortlist purposes.

Final stage

Final selection weightage

Final selection for 2026-28 uses: PGDBA Admission Test 45, PI 40, Class XII 8, Work Experience 7.

Official eligibility point Current rule
Eligible degree patterns 10+2+4 or 10+2+5 or 10+2+3+2, with the specified qualifying degree formats.
Minimum marks 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the qualifying degree.
SC / ST / PwBD marks 55% marks or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
Final-year candidates Allowed, subject to completion by 30 June 2026 and later document submission timelines.
Programme test PGDBA Admission Test / CBT, not CAT.
Useful distinction: the 2024-26 RTI reply uses the wording “WAT/GD & PI round” for the shortlist score table, while the current official 2026-28 policy talks about shortlisting for Personal Interview.

Forms filled and shortlist volume

This is the supply side first: how many people applied, how many got shortlisted, and what the profile mix looked like.

The RTI reply says none were shortlisted in these groups for 2024-26.

Practical reading

The shortlist list is much smaller than total applications, so the shortlist-stage score range matters more than generic programme-level talk.

1) Composite score range for shortlisted candidates

The attached RTI reply gives category-wise highest and lowest composite score for the shortlist stage.

Category Highest Shortlisted Score Lowest Shortlisted Score
GEN83.7003775.35014
OBC84.0188472.06034
EWS80.9248576.49661
SC82.3462662.66295
ST71.4278468.91718
How to read this: the lowest shortlisted score is the practical floor visible in the RTI reply for that category. That is more useful than vague “safe score” talk.

2) Final composite score range for candidates finally shortlisted for the course

The RTI reply gives the final stage score range in male/female breakup. The first table below converts that into a simple category-wise overall min-max view.

Category Overall Minimum Final Score Overall Maximum Final Score
General82.7934898591.6
OBC69.6482392788.27139761
EWS74.6935224587.70323386

Category Minimum Male Minimum Female Maximum Male Maximum Female

NC-OBC 69.64823927 71.32756764 88.27139761 73.62756764
SC 58.41197618 Nil 82.34625509 Nil
ST 68.91717567 Nil 71.42783959 Nil
PwD-General 28.74904752 Nil 28.74904752 Nil
Important: the RTI score table includes a PwD-General row, but the category-wise final-offer count table in the same reply does not separately list a PwD count.

3) Final offers and accepted offers

This is the most practical acceptance-side table from the RTI reply.

Category Total Final Offers Male Female
GEN27252
OBC17143
EWS660
SC1091
ST220
Total62566
Category Students Finally Accepted Offer
GEN27
OBC17
EWS6
SC10
ST1
Total61
Deferment note: the RTI reply says no student chose deferment of admission to the 2025-27 batch.

4) Waitlist movement

The attached RTI reply gives movement-wise category breakup for five separate waitlist movements.

Movement GEN EWS OBC SC ST Total in that movement
Movement 12661710261
Movement 23242011
Movement 3102003
Movement 4100001
Movement 5200002
Total Waitlist Movement by Category GEN EWS OBC SC ST Total
2024-26 33 8 23 12 2 78
Quick read: most of the waitlist movement happened in the first movement itself. General category saw the deepest cumulative movement in the attached reply.

How to read this page correctly

One clean framework for serious PGDBA applicants.

Step 1: Start with forms and shortlist counts

Understand how selective the programme was in the RTI year before jumping to final conversion talk.

Step 2: Read lowest shortlisted score

That is the practical shortlist floor visible in the RTI reply for that category.

Step 3: Read final scores, offers and waitlist together

Final score range tells you the post-interview zone, and waitlist movement tells you how deep things moved later.

Data on this page comes from the IIT Kharagpur / VGSoM RTI reply shared with AzuCATion for the PGDBA 2024-26 batch.

Historical note

2023-25 attached note

The attached 2023-25 document only establishes that IIT Kharagpur did not hold that batch’s data because the admission process was coordinated by ISI.

FAQ

Only the practical questions students usually ask.

Does PGDBA use CAT score for admission?

No. PGDBA does not consider CAT score for admission. It has its own PGDBA Admission Test or CBT.

Why is this page named IIM Calcutta PGDBA if the RTI reply came from IIT Kharagpur?

Because PGDBA is a joint programme of IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur and ISI. The attached usable RTI reply for 2024-26 came from IIT Kharagpur, while the current 2026-28 admissions are being handled by ISI.

Can I compare shortlist score range and final score range directly?

Not directly. The shortlist stage is test-led shortlisting, while the final stage uses a different weighted final-selection formula including Admission Test score, PI, Class XII performance and work experience.

Is 2023-25 RTI data available from the attached IIT Kharagpur documents?

No. The attached 2023-25 note only says that batch’s process was coordinated by ISI and the requested data was not available with IIT Kharagpur.

Need more RTI pages in the same format?

This page is structured the practical way: official process first, then RTI numbers that actually matter for interpretation.

Azucation established in 2013 is a leading CAT coaching institute in Ranchi, Jharkhand with a vision to impart empirical learning in competitive exams in a classroom coaching.
