As you prepare to submit your work experience details for IIM CAP 2024, it’s crucial to ensure that the information provided is both accurate and aligns with the guidelines set by the IIMs. Below are the key points to keep in mind when filling out your work experience details:
Criteria for Consideration:
- Relevance: Only work experience gained after graduation and completed in terms of months will be considered.
- Professional Significance: The work experience should be professionally significant enough to deserve credit. Routine or low-impact roles may not be given due consideration.
What Will NOT Be Considered:
- Internships: Any time spent as an intern, including those completed during the course of study, will not be considered.
- Apprenticeship/Articleship: Any periods of apprenticeship, such as articleship required as part of certain professional courses, will not be included in the work experience count.
- Unpaid Work: Any unpaid work undertaken in any organization or institution will not be counted towards your work experience.
- Salary via Cash/UPI: Salary received in cash or through UPI platforms (e.g., PayTM, Google Pay) will not be acknowledged unless accompanied by official documentation.
Document Verification:
To verify your work experience, you must submit relevant documents, including:
- Experience Certificate: Furnished on the official letterhead of your employer, including a seal and signature of the authorized signatory.
- Appointment/Relieving Letter: Should clearly state the date of joining and relieving.
- Pay Slips: Provide the first and last month’s pay slips.
- Bank Statement: Proof of salary credited into your account.
These documents need to be uploaded to the CAP 2024 portal and produced during the Personal Interview (PI) and subsequent admission processes.
For Proprietors or Partners:
If you are a proprietor or a partner in a firm, you need to provide the following:
- Certificate of Registration: Issued by the municipal corporation or appropriate authorities (e.g., MSME certificate, Udyog Aadhar Registration Certificate).
- Partnership Deed: Duly signed by all partners.
- GST Registration Certificate
- Income Tax Return (ITR): For the relevant period.
