IIM Ahmedabad MBA RTI Data

This page is built around the 3 things most MBA aspirants actually search for: category-wise shortlist composite score, category-wise final selection composite score, and category-wise total waitlist movement.

Shortlist CS first Final Selection CS second Waitlist Movement third Latest + trend view

For IIM Ahmedabad, the shortlist and final selection formulas are not the same. So this page keeps them separate and prominent. That is the right way to read RTI data for IIMA.

What most students want first

The latest completed batch data surfaced publicly for IIM Ahmedabad core MBA/PGP is shown first.

Latest batch
2025-27

Latest completed batch with category-wise shortlist CS, final CS, offers and waitlist data on this page.

Shortlisted
1330

Total interview shortlist count across categories for 2025-27.

Final offers
509

Total final offers across categories for 2025-27.

Largest WL move
33

General-category waitlist movement for 2025-27.

Data status: This page prioritizes completed-batch RTI-style numbers. For the current 2026-28 admission cycle, IIMA’s official shortlist and final-selection formulas are available, but historical-style category-wise final cutoff and waitlist tables for that cycle should only be added after the cycle closes and the data surfaces.

1) Category-wise Composite Score for AWT / PI Shortlist

This is the most useful first table for serious applicants. It tells you the actual shortlist cutoff by category, not just the minimum published CAT eligibility cutoff.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PwD
2025-27 0.659095 0.576825 0.562360 0.498964 0.435064 0.279694
2024-26 0.610503 0.557798 0.524637 0.456321 0.398081 0.278215
2023-25 0.639735 0.600929 0.550111 0.482141 0.425217 0.302414
Quick read: For the latest completed batch 2025-27, the shortlist CS cutoffs were highest in General and lowest in PwD. Compared with 2024-26, the 2025-27 shortlist CS rose for General, NC-OBC, SC and ST, while EWS also stayed high.
Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PwD Total shortlisted
2025-27 613 63 318 177 105 54 1330
2024-26 597 30 312 174 102 56 1271
2023-25 696 28 353 199 111 54 1441

Total shortlisted above is the sum of category rows shown in the source tables used for this page.

2) Category-wise Composite Score for Final Selection

This is the table most students care about after interview season because it reflects the actual final-offer threshold by category.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PwD
2025-27 0.652374 0.521074 0.529414 0.479663 0.419146 0.324654
2024-26 0.639445 0.520361 0.511276 0.441571 0.389072 0.315833
2023-25 0.675232 0.572157 0.556565 0.473630 0.446365 0.320027
Important: Shortlist CS and final-selection CS should not be directly compared as if they are the same metric. IIM Ahmedabad uses a different formula after AWT and PI. So this page shows them in separate blocks on purpose.

3) Category-wise Total Waitlist Movement

For converts, this is the most practical table after final results. It tells you how much the category moved after initial offers.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PwD
2025-27 33 4 18 11 16 9
2024-26 27 2 14 19 9 7
2023-25 1 3 5 11 0 6
Trend note: The 2025-27 batch saw noticeably deeper movement than 2023-25 in General, NC-OBC, ST and PwD. That is useful for context, but next-year movement can still change sharply depending on cross-converts, ABC overlap, and acceptance rates.

Total Offers Issued

This helps students understand how much bigger the offer pool was than the final class size and why waitlist movement matters.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PwD Total offers
2025-27 220 24 123 71 46 25 509
2024-26 208 11 112 71 40 26 468
2023-25 197 12 115 75 43 25 467

Official IIM Ahmedabad Formula: Why two composite scores exist

This is why shortlist CS and final CS are separate sections on this page.

Shortlist formula

AWT / PI shortlist

IIM Ahmedabad’s official admission page states that shortlist Composite Score uses: 0.35 × normalized AR score + 0.65 × normalized CAT score.

Final formula

Final selection

IIM Ahmedabad’s official admission page states that Final Composite Score uses: 50% PI + 10% AWT + 25% CAT + 15% AR after normalization.

That is the main reason a student should never read shortlist CS and final CS as the same threshold.

How to read this page correctly

One clean framework for students.

Step 1: Read shortlist CS

Use this to understand whether your profile + CAT combination was strong enough for the interview shortlist in that category.

Step 2: Read final CS

Use this to understand the level at which final offers happened after AWT and PI were added to the process.

Step 3: Read waitlist movement

Use this to estimate how much extra room opened up after initial offers. This is convert-depth context, not a guarantee.

FAQ

Only the practical questions students usually ask.

Which table is more important: shortlist CS or final CS?

Both are important, but for different uses. Shortlist CS helps you understand call difficulty. Final CS helps you understand convert difficulty after interview and writing test.

Can I compare shortlist CS and final CS directly?

No. They are based on different formulas. At IIM Ahmedabad, shortlist CS is built from AR and CAT, while final CS also includes PI and AWT.

Does higher waitlist movement always mean easier conversion?

Not always. It may help, but movement depends on overlaps with other top colleges, number of offers issued, acceptance behaviour, and category-wise seat dynamics.

Why is the official CAT cutoff not enough to predict an IIMA call?

Because clearing the minimum official CAT eligibility cutoff is only the starting point. IIMA then uses a category-wise composite score framework for shortlist generation.

Need this same RTI format for all colleges?

This page is now structured the right way for MBA RTI intent: shortlist CS first, final selection CS second, waitlist movement third, and source links below.
