IIM Bangalore MBA (Business Analytics) RTI Data

This page is built around what most aspirants actually search for: category-wise shortlist composite score, category-wise final selection composite score, category-wise total offers, and category-wise waitlist movement for IIM Bangalore MBA (Business Analytics), also referred to as PGPBA.

Shortlist CS first Final Selection CS second Total Offers third Waitlist Movement fourth

For IIM Bangalore MBA (Business Analytics), the interview shortlist stage and final selection stage use different composite-score logic. So this page keeps the two sections clearly separate and then adds offers and waitlist movement after that.

Official IIM Bangalore process: why two composite scores exist

IIM Bangalore’s official MBA (Business Analytics) admission process makes the distinction clear: one score is used before PI and another after PI/WAT.

Pre-PI stage

Interview shortlist composite

IIMB’s official admission process for 2026-28 says the pre-PI score uses CAT = 55, 10th = 10, 12th = 10, Bachelor’s = 10, Work Experience = 10, Gender Diversity = 5. Within CAT, the split is VARC 13, DILR 20, QA 22.

Post-PI stage

Final admission composite

For candidates called for interview, the post-PI weights are PI = 40, WAT = 10, CAT = 25, 10th Maths = 5, 12th = 5, Bachelor’s = 5, Work Experience = 10. Within CAT, the split is VARC 6, DILR 9, QA 10.

Important: Shortlist CS and final-selection CS should not be treated as the same threshold. They come from different stages and different weight structures.

Applicants and interview shortlists

This section gives you the supply side first: how many candidates applied, how many were shortlisted, and how the category distribution moved across years.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PWD Total Applicants

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PWD Total Shortlisted
2025-27 704 200 475 280 168 113 1940
2024-26 496 160 380 200 116 40 1392
2023-25 486 160 380 200 116 37 1379
Quick read: Applicant volume rose sharply from 2023-25 to 2025-27, and the 2025-27 batch also saw the highest total shortlist count in the public data used here.

1) Category-wise composite score cutoff for shortlisting to interview round

This is the actual shortlist composite-score cutoff by category. It is far more useful than just quoting the minimum eligibility percentile.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PWD
2025-27 52.6351 42.1982 43.6882 37.4266 28.6808 17.0096
2024-26 47.4127 37.6369 39.3105 32.9049 24.3998 24.1571
2023-25 51.5088 40.1132 42.0113 33.7470 20.2086 10.9466
Trend note: In the latest public batch 2025-27, shortlist CS is higher than 2024-26 in every category except PWD, which makes the latest cycle look more competitive at the shortlist stage.

2) Category-wise composite score cutoff for the final offer of admission

This is the category-wise final-offer threshold after the interview and writing-stage process is added.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PWD
2025-27 62.5833 48.1823 51.5062 43.0167 37.1574 44.9834
2024-26 58.2657 50.4033 48.9057 46.2004 34.9347 40.0707
2023-25 59.4185 52.7035 51.1883 45.1923 37.3713 31.3178
Important: Final selection CS is a post-PI score. It should not be read like a continuation of the shortlist CS table above.

3) Category-wise total number of students offered the final offer of admission

This is the practical offers table. It shows how deep the college had to go with offers across categories.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PWD Total Offers
2025-27 116 47 98 75 25 24 385
2024-26 153 35 138 75 26 11 438
2023-25 100 20 80 25 25 11 261
Total offers matter because waitlist movement has to be read together with how aggressive the offer strategy already was in that year.

4) Category-wise waitlist movement

This is the most practical section for converts after final results are out.

Batch General EWS NC-OBC SC ST PWD Total WL Movement
2025-27 14 27 18 50 0 7 116
2024-26 53 15 58 50 1 4 181
2023-25 19 16 50 7 0 0 92
Trend note: 2024-26 saw the deepest overall waitlist movement in the public data on this page, while 2025-27 had the sharpest movement in the SC category.

How to read this page correctly

One clean framework for serious applicants.

Step 1: Read shortlist CS

Use it to understand whether your profile + CAT combination crossed the interview-call threshold in that category.

Step 2: Read final selection CS

Use it to understand the score level at which final admission offers happened after WAT and PI were added.

Step 3: Read offers + waitlist together

Offer counts tell you how broad the admit strategy was, and waitlist movement tells you how deep it moved later.

FAQ

Only the practical questions students usually ask.

Is IIM Bangalore MBA (Business Analytics) the same as PGPBA?

Yes. IIM Bangalore’s official pages use the degree title MBA (Business Analytics), and the programme is commonly referred to as PGPBA.

Can I compare shortlist CS and final selection CS directly?

No. The shortlist table is based on the pre-PI stage, while the final selection table is based on the post-PI composite after WAT and PI are factored in.

Why is the official percentile cutoff not enough to judge my chances?

Because the official first-shortlist percentile is only the eligibility threshold for deeper consideration. Actual shortlisting still depends on the institute’s multi-parameter composite score framework.

Does waitlist movement guarantee similar conversion next year?

No. It is useful context only. Next year can move very differently depending on overlap with other top colleges, category-wise acceptance behaviour, and the number of offers issued.

Need the same RTI format for all colleges and programmes?

This page is now structured the right way for MBA RTI intent: shortlist CS first, final selection CS second, total offers third, waitlist movement fourth, and official source links below.
