DoMS IIT Kanpur MBA Selection Criteria 2024-26 , Cut-Offs – RTI Based
Admissions to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program at the Department of Management Sciences (DoMS), IIT Kanpur for the 2024-26 batch are now open. International applicants are encouraged to follow the respective guidelines for application.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the 2024-26 academic session, applicants must appear for the CAT 2023 examination conducted by IIMs. The eligibility criteria vary for different categories:
For GN and OBC Applicants:
- Overall score of 80 percentile or above in CAT-2023.
- Bachelor’s Degree with an aggregate of 60% or a CPI of 6.0 on a scale of 10.
- Minimum three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
For SC and ST Applicants:
- Overall score of 55 percentile or above in CAT-2023.
- Bachelor’s Degree with an aggregate of 50% or a CPI of 5.0 on a scale of 10.
- Minimum three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
Note: Candidates appearing for the final degree examination can also apply provisionally.
Admission Stages
- Stage 1: Initial Application
- Apply online by filling the form on DoMS IITK Admissions Portal if eligible.
- Stage 2: Short Listing of Applications
- Shortlisting based on CAT-2023 percentile. Cut-off percentiles determined for different categories.
- Stage 3: Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) Assessment
- GD panels evaluate performance in group discussion.
- PI assessment considers academic background, work experience, and interview performance.
- Stage 4: Merit List Preparation
- All short-listed applicants qualifying Stage 3 considered for merit list preparation.
Note: Stages 2, 3, and 4 for [GN, EWS, OBC (NCL)] and [SC & ST] applicants will be conducted independently.
Fees for Application
- General/OBC(NCL)/EWS: INR 2000/-
- SC/ST/DAP (Differently Abled Persons): INR 1000/-
- No fee for female applicants.

Special Provisions
- Gender Diversity:
- A gender diversity multiplier for shortlisted female applicants.
- The gender diversity incorporated final score is capped at the maximum score (100).
