  • The State Government has agreed to provide a plot of land free of cost and free from all encumbrances in an area with good infrastructure and industrial linkages.
  • Four plots of land were initially identified, with the final selection being a plot at Marabhita measuring 574 Bigha 1 Katha-12 Lessa (approximately 76.8332 Hectares).
  1. Selection and Approval Process:
  • The site selection was conducted by a committee chaired by Prof. V. K. Paul, Professor, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.
  • The plot selection was finalized and documented in a report accepted by the Higher Education Department of the Government of Assam on February 16, 2024.
  • The Ministry of Education approved the recommendations and conveyed its approval for the establishment of IIM Kamrup.
  1. Mentorship and Guidance:
  • IIM Ahmedabad has been nominated as the Mentor Institute for IIM Kamrup. This mentorship will ensure that the new IIM benefits from the expertise and experience of one of India’s premier management institutes.
